Collection consists of various literature publications, journals, posters and broadsides, articles, and other publications, related to 20th century American writers.
William T. Bates papers
This small collection appears to have been the class notes of USC alumnus William T. ("Terry") Bates who attended the university between 1974 and 1977. Seven three-ring binders contain his handwritten notes, exam "blue books, and class syllabi for courses in English and American literature, drama, theatre, social psychology, and mathematics. Course instructors include Nina Foch, Richard Toscan, and R.S. Ross, among others.
T. Coraghessan Boyle typescripts
Typescript drafts of the story, "The Zoo," written 1971-73 and first published in Texas Quarterly (Spring 1978). T. Coraghessan Boyle (b.1948) is a member of the USC faculty.
Helen Addison Howard Papers
Typescript and galleys of Howard's American Indian Poetry (Twayne, 1979). Howard received an M.A. from USC in 1933.

The Carol Muske-Dukes papers consist of the literary works, academic files, and personal papers, photographs, and correspondence of Carol Muske-Dukes, California poet laureate and USC professor of creative writing. The materials cover the period from early 1957 to 2023.

This collection contains drafts of two manuscripts by Spanish writer Ramón Sender (1901-1982): "En la vida de Ignacio Morel" and "Poesía y Memorias Bisiestas."
